Service is a very important part of being a Christian. In Chapter 17, you learned about the sacraments of service: Holy Orders and Matrimony. Our priests, deacons and parents help us when we need them. They help us follow God. In the sacraments of Holy Orders and Matrimony, people promise that they will serve God and His People in a special way. God blesses people in these sacraments and gives them the grace they need to keep their promises.

We are asked by God to help others, too. You can learn about serving others by watching the people who help you.
