Patron Saints
On page 242, you read about ways that our Church helps us to pray. Your book gives some examples. The last example says that statues of saints can sometimes help people pray. People pray to saints for many reasons. They pray for help and for guidance.
Some people pray to certain saints for special reasons. The Church calls these saints "patron saints." Some patron saints are for the sick or for people who need protection.
