Bible Story: Jesus and the Children from Mark 10:13-16

Parent and Family Background

In this story, we read that Jesus loves children, just as he loves all people. The passage tells us that Jesus’ blessing and God’s kingdom are for everyone. In fact, Jesus says that we must become like children in order to enter God’s kingdom.

Jesus and the Children

Mark 10:13-16

People brought their children to Jesus. They wanted him to bless their children, but the disciples scolded them.

When Jesus saw this, he said to the disciples, “Let the little children come to me. Do not stop them. The kingdom of heaven belongs to those who are like these little children.”

Then Jesus took the children in his arms. He laid his hand on them and blessed them.
