The First Disciples

Matthew 4:18-22

As Jesus walked along the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers. Their names were Peter and Andrew. They were fishermen. Together, they cast a net into the sea.

Jesus said to them, “Come with me, and I will make you fishers of people.”

At once, they left their net and followed Jesus.

Jesus continued along the shore and came upon two more brothers. They were named James and John. They were in a boat, with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. Jesus called out to them. Immediately, James and John left their father and their boat to follow Jesus.
