Catholic Schools Light the Way –Catholic Schools Week 2008 Following the way of Jesus is not an easy undertaking. Many obstacles can get in the way of our being successful. Our world puts barriers in our way – money, fame, pride, acceptance, even our friends sometimes lead us away from what we know to be the right path. The challenge for each of us is to rely on the strength of the Holy Spirit to help us make choices that express what we truly believe. We need to pray everyday that we may follow the way and show others how to do the same. Your parents, principal and teachers speak to you of the importance of following the way of Jesus. Daily they show you what it means to live in the light of Jesus, following in His way. Your Catholic School has two important tasks; one is to educate you in subjects like Reading, Math and Social Studies. The second task, most highly valued, is to lead you to live your life in the way of Jesus. If your report card had a space for a grade in “Living the way of Jesus” would you be a bright, shining student with an Excellent, Outstanding, an A+?
