Prayer to God Among Us

Almighty God,

You came to live among us. We only need to look within ourselves to find you. Open our minds and hearts to you as you reveal yourself, your lessons, and your plans for us in scripture.  Make our eyes open to your presence in the ordinary events of our day-to-day living.

Help us prepare ourselves for Jesus’ return.  Keep clear our path of thoughts, words and actions.  May they lead others to your love.  Help us be ever ready for the moment when you show yourself again.

Please be present, O Lord, at our table now.  Shine your light on us as we fill ourselves with your love and friendship.  Through Jesus, your Son, the one for whom we wait.  Amen.
