Sharing Our Gifts
For many of us, an important part of the holiday season is exchanging gifts with the people we love. We try to find gifts for our loved ones that are a sign of how much we care for them. During this season of sharing gifts and sharing love, we must keep in mind the many people who need us to be a sign of God’s love for them.
Those who need a sign of God’s love include those in poverty, those under attack of war, the elderly, the lonely, and many more. Decide to make a difference in someone’s life for Christmas and bring God’s love to someone in need.
After Jesus told the parable of the Good Samaritan, he asked, “Which one of these three, in your opinion, was a neighbor to the man who fell victim to the robbers?” The man answered, “The one who treated him with compassion.” Jesus said to him, “Then go and do the same.”
Based on Luke 10:36-37
The best gift we can give is ourselves, so try these ideas.
- Make arrangements to go to your local senior care center or housing complex and sing Christmas carols.
- Make Christmas decorations that you can use to decorate your local senior care center or housing complex.
- Make arrangements to help local seniors with wrapping presents or sending Christmas cards.
