Year C
The Holy Trinity - Year A
May 18, 2009

Read SundayŐs gospel, John 3:16-18

Gospel Summary
As in the past weeks, JesusŐ message of commission and obedience is present along with his promise to always be with us. As the disciples were sent out to baptize, they were reminded of GodŐs trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Reflection for Families
Jesus told Nicodemus that God would save those who believe; those who do not believe have already been condemned. Sometimes it is hard for us to get our children to know what is good for them, like eating their vegetables, getting a good nightŐs sleep, or watching less television. As parents, we often have to model the behavior we want them to have. Children are quite open to the notion of God, and often they lead adults to greater faith. Our first responsibility to our children and their development of faith is to constantly seek God in our own lives. Our example is invaluable.

Bringing the Gospel Into Your Family
Look through your parish bulletin after mass this weekend. Look for an opportunity to do something for someone who needs to know God loves him/her. Develop a plan together to share the Good News of JesusŐ love. Ask the Holy Spirit to help your family seek out a person in need and also to give your family the energy and courage necessary to witness GodŐs love.
