A Bedtime Prayer
Blessed are you, oh gracious and generous God.
The light is gone, and this day with it,
And so we turn to you in prayer.
We praise you in all your creation,
in the wonder of nature,
in your creatures great and small,
and in the changes of seasons.
We thank you for the beauty of the season this day, especially for ______.
We praise you for the many people you give us,
our neighbors and friends,
our classmates and teachers,
and our relatives and family members.
For all these people we thank you, especially for ___________.
We praise you for the very gift of life,
for our bodies and our minds,
and for health and healing.
We pray tonight especially for ______________ who is ill.
We praise you for disappointments and joys,
for tears and someone to dry them,
and for our accomplishments and family to share them.
We praise you for the work of this day,
