Bible Background
With God’s power, Jesus preformed many miracles. Jesus performed these miracles to help people know God’s love for them. In this story, Jesus heals a man with a withered hand on the Sabbath. The Man with the Withered Hand Jesus entered the synagogue where he saw a man with a withered hand. The Pharisees were also in the synagogue. The Pharisees asked Jesus, “Is it lawful to cure on the Sabbath?” Jesus said to the Pharisees, “If you had only one sheep, and that sheep fell into a pit on the Sabbath, wouldn’t you lift the sheep out of the pit? A person is so much more valuable than a sheep! So, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” Then Jesus said to the man with the withered hand, “Hold out your hand.” The man held out his hand and it was healed. |
