Bible Background From now until mid-June, we will be examining the miracles of Jesus as recounted throughout the gospels. With God’s power, Jesus preformed many miracles. Jesus performed these miracles to help people know God’s love for them. In this story, Jesus cures a leper. Similar stories can be found in Mark 1:40-45 and Luke 5:12-19. You might like to read and compare all three stories. Jesus Cleanses a Leper Great crowds followed Jesus down from the mountain. A leper knelt before Jesus and said, “Lord, if you choose, you can make me clean.” Jesus stretched out his hand and touched the man, saying, “I do choose. Be made clean!” Immediately, the man’s leprosy was gone. Jesus said to him, “Do not say anything to anyone. Go show yourself to the priest. Then make an offering as a testimony.” Connecting to Faith First® Legacy Edition Connecting to Faith First® Original Edition |
