On May 25 we celebrated the Feast of Corpus Christi. On this feast day, we celebrate the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. In a way, this feast reiterates the Eucharistic focus of Holy Thursday. In some parishes on this feast day, Mass culminates with a Eucharistic procession. Choose one of the following activities to recall Corpus Christi together.
1. Visit your parish’s tabernacle. Talk together about how we show reverence for the Body and Blood of Christ.
2. Make prayer cards with a memorial acclamation written on them. Distribute these prayer cards to homebound members of the parish. Choose the acclamation most used in your parish, such as “Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.”
3. Invite a person who brings Holy Communion to shut-ins to come and talk to the group. Ask your guest to share what they do in their ministry as well as why this ministry is so important.
4. Revisit the Eucharist lessons in your Faith First® textbooks.
